Waking Up on my own,
Finding my slippers amidst the dizziness,
And brushing my teeth while the water in the sink is running,
Through the sound of the birds chirping outside the window.
Running down the stair,
To get my coffee started and have a read of my favourite book,
While it’s heavily raining outside the window,
As I looked through the sills while the raindrops rolled down.
I saw the grass being gushed and flooded by water,
Birds trying to find a place to stay dry,
Watched blankly at the roof taking a break from my read,
Relaxed my mind to see how people were running here and there on the street.
I drank the last bit of coffee,
Opened the front door,
Ran towards the rain, started dancing,
While I played Taylor Swift in my head.
I looked at the sky, and smiled,
As the rain stopped and a sun ray hit my face,
where I saw the peace I was in.
Alone, but not Lonely.
