South Asia is a region which is known for its political, social, cultural, and economic significance in the Orient. When focusing on its social and cultural value, it is necessary to mention cricket although it is a gift from the West. Therefore, in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, its magnificent presence has captured millions of hearts while being a common ground to celebrate the state of being South Asian.
As the International Service Avenue of RACUOK, we have considered it as a potential source to strengthen our bonds with another foreign Rotaract Club in South Asia. Subsequently, the Rotaract Club of Thane East has accepted its importance and it was confirmed to have a joint cricket match. After suggesting a lot of names for the initiative, Cric’Eve has been confirmed to be the title. Suddenly, an OC was appointed by selecting Team Leaders of the International Service Avenue and it was decided to have the match on 28th of March. In addition, a proper PR plan was confirmed and the OC started working on finding a proper cricket ground while requesting all the Rotaractors to take part in these enjoyable hours. Significantly, some volunteers also supported us by giving us cricket equipment which was needed for the event. On the 28th of March, everyone agreed to have the match in the evening since it is the most suitable time for a fun event. Two teams (Team A and Team B) were formed and their leaders gathered to decide who was going to bat first. Eventually, it was decided after a well-known toss and started batting and balling. Without knowing how fast the time passed, everyone enjoyed playing cricket and it consequently brought victory to Team A.
Hence, by showcasing the importance of team spirit, the International Service Avenue of RACUOK was able to initiate another exclusive project for the betterment of its relationship with the Rotaract Club of Thane East.
