Monthly General Meeting: February

Monthly General Meeting for the month of February was held on the 22nd of February online via zoom. The meeting started after the house being called to order. The minutes from the last meeting was read by Secretary Rtr. Sahan Silva. After that the President Rtr. Nipuna Rambukkanage presented a brief about the ongoing and concluded club projects while appreciating the immense dedication of the directors, team leaders, project chairs, organizing committees and all the club members. A special appreciation was given to the projects conducted under the Member Relation’s initiative: Rota Tomorrow. President Rtr. Nipuna Rambukkanage also mentioned about the interviews held recently to select the Board of Directors for the next Rotaract year and he confirmed that the results will be announced soon. The next-up was the most awaited moment of the General Meeting since the President elect, Secretary elect and the Treasurer elect were to be announced officially.

The President elect Rtr. Kisal Ekanayake, Secretary elect Rtr. Avisha Malalaratne, Treasurer elect Rtr. Malith Kavinda were heartily congratulated by everyone present at the meeting. Even though we could not celebrate the precious moment by giving them a big round of applause to wish them all good luck since the meeting was conducted on a virtual platform, we could see the chat box filling up with warm wishes sent by all the fellow Rotaractors.

The new Executive Committee elects addressed the members and expressed their thoughts about the Rotaract journey and its promising future.

The platform was then opened for Director announcements. Members of the month, team leaders of the month, directors of the month, avenues of the month and the most enthusiastic members were announced by Rtr. Dhanuka Piushan, Co-director Member Relations.

Birthday wishes for the month of February were announced later and the meeting was terminated by the President, wishing all good luck and health for everyone.
