My Rotract journey started in a very unexpected way. Although I joined the club in the 2nd year, I was an inactive member in the whole term. However, I joined again in the next term to community service avenue, which I believe is definitely my fate. Even more unexpectedly, I saw a flyer for a project which does not even has a name, but to develop a village in Kurunegala, near my hometown. Since I can go there easily, I thought of joining it. During the interview, I met two people, there were others, but only two spoke, Wikshi and Vihanga, whom later became the reason for an unforgettable turning point in my life. My sincere gratitude for two of them and Dimithri and Dinithi for appointing me as the project co-ordinator of the remarkable project “Ignite Sri Lanka”. This project has a special place in my heart as it made me who I am today, let me grow and filled my life with beautiful memories.

Applying for the board, is another thing that I never thought of, until my friends encouraged me to do so. I knew it will be a challenge as I was in the 4th year with heavy workload. Once again, I want to thank the VP and directors for keeping trust on me. After being appointed as the co-director, I could spend my last year in the university with much joy as never before. My amazing co-directors, Dinanga, Ravindu and VP Pabamini, became more than friends to feel like my own family. Together we did incredible things, guiding our lovely members who made everything possible. It is much pleasure to witness three incredible projects “Ignite Sri Lanka 1.0”, “Swabasamudra 2.0” and “Ignite Sri Lanka 2.0”.

Finally, I was able to end my Rotract journey, along with my university life filled with unforgettable memories thanks to the great people I met. I wish our legacy will continue in the next term with new members. Hope our club will shine more than ever. Thank you Rotract for giving me a huge opportunity to find who I am, improve my skills and giving me new identity.
VIVA LA ROTRACT.
