My Rotaract journey is a rollercoaster of unforgettable memories, leadership challenges, and countless smiles. It all began in 2023, thanks to one of my closest friends, Nifal, who had just been appointed as the Finance Director of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya. At first, I joined simply because my friends were involved—but I stayed because I found something much more meaningful.

I became a part of both the Sports & Recreational (SR) Avenue and the Finance Avenue. My very first project was Spark, organized by the Finance Avenue. I was placed in the organizing committee for Comedy Lanthaya. Here’s the funny part—when the OC positions were being allocated, I was fast asleep! So, I woke up to find myself named as the Editor of the project 🤦‍♂️. Ironically, I ended up doing everything except editorial work—but it was a blast nonetheless!

Soon after, I was appointed as the Team Leader of the SR Avenue. That role gave me the confidence to step up further. One of the highlights of my journey was co-chairing the project Arambhana with my friend Rukitha. It was a massive success and was recognized with a Gold Award at the Rotaract District Conference 🏆. That moment was truly special—it showed us how powerful teamwork and passion can be.

Whether it was selling mojitos, wristbands, or pens to raise funds, every small effort felt impactful. These weren’t just fundraising activities; they were acts of service, joy, and purpose 💚.

In the Rotaract term 2024/25, I was honored to be appointed as the Treasurer of our club. It was a proud moment, but also a heavy responsibility. Managing the finances of one of the largest clubs in the district wasn’t easy. But with the support of my two incredible Finance Directors and the entire finance team, we handled the challenge like pros 💼💪.

One of the most cherished parts of my Rotaract life is the bond I shared with our EXCO and Board of Directors. We did projects, we planned events, we celebrated success—and most importantly, we created memories. Late-night chats, yelling at directors over delayed finance reports (sorry! 😅), and spontaneous laughter—those are the moments I’ll miss the most.

Rotaract transformed my university life. I learned. I grew. I made lifelong friends. Together, we created change, big and small. The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya is more than just a club—it’s a family, a school of leadership, a playground of fun, and a platform to make a real impact 🌍❤️.
