Once upon a time, there was a nice family living in an apartment. They had a little boy named Jack who always brought happiness and laughter to their home. Jack’s dad, Herman, and his mom, Anne, both had jobs, so sometimes Jack had to be alone until they came back.
One ordinary day, as Jack played with his toys, something unusual caught his parents’ attention. They saw him giggling and talking to someone who wasn’t there. He seemed really happy. Herman and Anne looked at each other and then approached Jack carefully.
“Jack,” Anne asked gently, “Who are you playing with, sweetheart?” “With my new friend, Mama,” Jack answered. Anne thought that little Jacky might be playing with an imaginary friend until that day arrived.
One sunny morning, as usual, they were on their way to their day-to-day life. Since both parents were working, Jack used to stay home alone. As the day ended, they were on their way back home. Anne missed Jack, so she called her baby to see what was up with him. However, Jack didn’t answer the call.
The sky was darker than usual, with thunder rumbling in the distance. Anne felt that something was wrong with her surroundings. She shared her thoughts with Herman, and he convinced her to check on Jack when they returned home.
Upon reaching their apartment building, they noticed an eerie silence. The security guard was missing, leaving only his hat behind, and the phone was hanging on the wall as if someone had answered and hastily left. Worried, they rushed to their apartment.
When they arrived at their floor, both couldn’t believe their eyes. The entire house was fully destroyed and looked like an unauthorized person has entered the house. On the floor, both saw blood drops so they panicked, followed the blood drops, and screamed the name of Jack. Suddenly they heard a mysterious voice behind the curtain which was in the corner of the hall. Herman slowly moved near the curtain and opened it. While he was opening it, he froze for some minutes as his son Jack carried one doll and talked with that. Beside him, they saw the ketchup packets which were in open condition. When Jack saw his dad, he looked and smiled horribly. Suddenly the power went back on within a few minutes. After that Jack behaved like normal, he threw the doll and asked when did his dad come and what has happened in the house. Both hugged Jack and said nothing but everything will be okay. Herman and Anne were both confused about this incident but didn’t ask anything from Jack and arranged the home again. Sometime later around 12 o’clock, Anne heard an awful sound.
Anne followed the mysterious sound, her heart pounding in her chest. The noise led her to Jack’s room, where she found him sitting on the floor, playing with his toys as if nothing has happened. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong, but Jack seemed completely oblivious.
