Track the Spread

A newly developed Covid-19 Patient Tracking System.

The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya has developed an advanced Covid-19 patient tracking system named ‘Track the Spread’ to control the global pandemic using geolocation capturing and movement tracking.

The Coronavirus has put the entire world into a chaos as still there is no proper medication to cure the virus and controlling the fast spread of the virus has become extremely difficult. Even though many countries including Sri Lanka were able to control the first wave of the pandemic by incorporating strategies like lockdown and social distancing, the second and third waves have become more challenging causing a rapid increase of the death toll. One of the major practical difficulties faced by the healthcare officials in controlling the virus is that they have to visit the quarantine centers frequently, risking their own lives by being exposed to the virus.

This mobile application developed by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya helps the Public Health Inspectors to track the movements of people under quarantine just with a single click or swipe on the screen without visiting them in person.
