Every month goes by, and the pages of the calendar are torn apart by revealing the story of another thirty days ahead with thirty different chapters created in the past. The month of October tells the tale of many special days, just like the other months do. Among them shines another remarkable day, which is the 12th of October 2021, stating Milad-Un-Nabi.

The reason for celebrating Milad-Un-Nabi leads back to a history of 1400 years. On the twelfth day of Rabee-ul-Awwal which is the third month of the Islamic calendar, in 570 CE the prophet, Muhammad was born. He was born in the city named Mecca which was then ruled by the tribe named Quraysh. Prophet Muhammad is the last messenger of the religion Islam. Therefore the birth of the prophet is commemorated by Muslims with immense devotion and adherence. It is commemorated to honour the messenger of Islam who revolutionized the religious scene in the Middle East through the following decades.

According to the Islamic calendar, a month is considered when the lunar cycle is completed. Therefore, the number of days of a month varies from 29 to 30, which results in the differentiation of the date of celebrating Milad-Un-Nabi each year. Though it is an important day of celebration for the Muslim community, it is also a day to mourn, as the death anniversary of the prophet is also observed on this day. After Prophet Muhammad breathed his last, his house was transformed into a prayer house by one of his successors.

On the day of Milad-Un-Nabi, people proceed with prayers and make it an opportunity to narrate stories and teachings of the prophet to the future generation and end their day by engaging in charity towards the needy and poor people.
