Introducing Rtr. Roshan Rathnayake, President of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya for the RI Year 2023-24. 🤵♂️
First and foremost, අපේ ජනාධිපති has a weird habit of making others think that he is a sage. 😅 But in reality, he is the leader of පුංචි පාතාලේ. Once he even expressed his talents in combat by sending a student packing to the hospital! 🏥🥷🤦🏻♀️
Roshan is a multi-talented person who can also mimick. 🗣️He's a master at mimicking the sound of puppies, even though he doesn't like them. 🐶 But unfortunately, Only his ටිලින් ටිලින් is the luckiest person to witness his undeniable mimicking talent. 😌🌚 Our President සර් loves to watch adventure movies but is too afraid to try a little zipline! 😥
Here's a tip from our end! Do you want to impress our President සර්? Just offer him Wattalappam. 🍮 And also, don't let him go hungry because even a small bout of hunger will blast his tummy. 🥵
Let's not forget that President සර් is a pro when it comes to public speaking and announcing. 🎤 Indeed, he has been the "Chief Sinhala Announcer" at his school. 📣
Every single word of the President is a source of motivation that encourages everyone to boost their energy. 💪🏻 He possesses an admirable quality when it comes to projects. During a project, he'll remind each of us about our contributions and motivate everyone to do more. 🥺 But guys, quantity is a problem, he'll remember everyone. 🫣 He's a perfect real-world leadership example. 👏🏻
Nevertheless, President සර් is very devoted to his responsibilities and commitments. A perfect example of this was his commitment to an extracurricular activity just two weeks before his AL’s, and he ended up in one of the best universities in Sri Lanka, proving that he has good multitasking skills. 🙌🏻 He also achieved the "Best Prefect Award" with the highest academic score at the Prize Giving of his school. 🥇
Also, our President is very skilled in photography, and he even started his photography journey in Grade 7. 📸 He is very active in the public sphere because of his involvement in the cadets. 👮
Leaders are good listeners, and the best listener is our President. He dedicatedly asks every person for their ideas and thoughts without getting tired. ❤️💫
Another unique characteristic of this individual is that, whether it's his friends on the board or in the Executive Committee, he treats everyone equally, and he never involves his personal life in Rotaract. 🫶🏻
Rtr. MANULA PETHIYAGODA
Immediate Past President
Rtr. Manula Pethiyagoda is a proud product of the Faculty of Science, currently reading for a B.Sc. in Physical Science. Literally exemplifying true leadership 💪 in all the chores he undertakes; from groundwork 👷 to uplifting our club name to greater heights 📈 while assisting his fellow members in the friendliest way, this endearing young gentleman 🤵♂ is the perfect example for the definition of a caring 🫂 president.
He may seem strict 🧐 from the outer perspective but is completely the opposite in reality and having a little chit-chat with this individual will prove it to you 🫵🏻. Being a funny character will make you think ‘how is he even doing that?’ 🤔 but just as being funny and very calm in nature, he is also well focused 🥸 in everything he does at all times.
When it comes to F.R.I.E.N.D.S, this guy is a diehard fan 😱, and even a person who gets to know him today will definitely be able to tell that right away ✌️. According to his batchmates, he has even attended lectures by the name; Chandler Bing proving without a shadow of a doubt that he is the King 🫅 of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S fandom. So, come to him to know anything about F.R.I.E.N.D.S! 🤩
He’s got a mystery girl 👩🏻🦱💘 in his heart (the girl’s got no idea that he likes her though 🤫) and he might try to give a hint 🤭 about the girl during this joyful year. Let’s be attentive to his motivational speeches!
A person who does not eat meat or fish is normally called a vegetarian 🥕🍆, but according to him the dictionary is wrong (he’s a vegetarian but eats fish 🐟 and some eggs 🥚 as well) and he has had many instances where he’s had nothing 😔 to eat at gatherings.
As it is said, among the avenues of RACUOK, Mr. President Community Service Avenue එකට තමයි ගොඩක් ආදරේ… 😍🥰 and other avenues are පොඩ්ඩක් jealous 🤨 about that fact.
Nowadays, whenever we get power cuts during meetings 🤝, the next second we are to expect a message from him in the group, "current na guys, kadi kadi ahenne…" and then the next second he comes with a flashlight on 🔦 being the saviour of the meeting 🙏. Even powercuts doesn't have the power from stopping this dedicated personality attending a meeting! 🥳
Never ever be shocked 😮🫣 if a meme or a sticker containing what you did inadvertently 🤭 has been shared in a group; he is always on the lookout 🧐 for such things, but also note that comparatively, the number of stickers made for him is higher (a good poser 🕺).

Vihanga is known for reaching out at odd hours whether through texts or spontaneous calls without any prior notice. All that in pursuit to get answers for his lengthy questions! 😂😌
Also let's not forget about a girl's man when talking about Vihanga where many youngsters say "ආ Vihanga අයියට කිව්වා or Vihanga අයියට දුන්නා" 😂❤️
What's impressive about Vihanga is his ability to stay true to himself despite criticism and judgement from others, serving as a shining example for everyone. ✨
කෑමක් නම් Vihanga තමයි where he can even finish an entire ice cream tub on his own and proudly say ice cream එක මම තමයි තනියම කෑවේ! 😂🍨🍧
He is also an amazing friend who would stick with you through hardships and other struggles. 🌻🌟
But nonetheless Vihanga gets annoyed when he gets isolated in work as he firmly believes in working as a team. 🤝 He always tries to make himself involved in different work and ensure that the things are in order! 🎊⚡

Whenever a lecture ends she heads into the staff canteen with her friends, and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is "Juice එකක් බොමුද?" followed by "අනේ fried rice එකක් කමුද? මට එකක් වැඩී අපි දෙන්න බාගෙ බාගෙ කමුද?" 😂😝
Disandi is an amazing flautist. She excels in playing the English Flute 🪈 where she can in fact take you to another world. 😍💆🏻♂️
The overthinking spectrum is a common place that Disandi wanders around. 😵💫 However, No matter how much she panics or stresses over the simplest of things, she still manages to find a way deescalate the situation. 🙃
"Disandi flyer එකක් හදලා දෙනවාද?" is a frequent question that Disandi gets asked. She designs amazing flyers even if it's a last minute request. ✨🌟
Disandi is known to be a really good friend 👭 and a partner ♥️ that would stick with you in your difficult moments and help you get through your battles with ease. 🥹💕
She is also a great multi-tasker who balances academics with extras really well. 📚✨ And let's not forget how much of a workaholic Disandi is. 👩🏻💼 She's gives 100% percent of herself when assigned a task and is firmly determined to complete it. 💯⚡

Meet our වීරයා himself, Rtr. Dhanika Anupama, one of the Vice Presidents of RACUOK.
Just as ordinary people set an alarm ⏰ to wake up in the morning, his unlucky 🥴 "special person" tends to wake up to Dhanika's පණ්ඩිත talks where he starts as, "වීරයා ආවා.....".😮💨 Widely known as 'කුමාරසිරි,' Dhanika is a good motivational speaker, 🎙️and it always starts with "ගේ අතුගාලා 🧹 මිදුල අතුගාලා 🪮 අපි රට හදමු." So if you ever need a motivational speech on anything, you now know who to call first. 😹🔫
Dhanika is one of the favorite human stickers for WhatsApp conversations among our Board. 🌝 Whenever a teasing round goes on a WhatsApp group with any board member, it's sure to end with Dhanika's sticker. 🪪
Spicy is කුමාරසිරි's ever-favorite word. 🤯 His skills with spicy foods are mesmerizing, and he's not picky at all when it comes to food. 🐛🪱🐌 Sometimes, his over-addiction to spicy foods makes his face drool in tears 🥹🥵. Apart from that, කුමාරසිරි has a special love for cupcakes. 🧁💖
කුමාරසිරි is quite talkative 🤐 and can strike up a conversation with anyone in minutes. 🥱 He also wants everything his way. 🥸 Once, on a presentation day, his lecturer told that formal attire wasn't necessary. But, behold, 😌 කුමාරසිරි showed up in a suit and tie, just in case! 👔😎 And his mates say that he looked like an ඉස්කෝලෙ මහත්තයා! 😅
Now let's not forget that කුමාරසිරි is a tech guru. 🤖👑 Being a tech guru isn't easy, so staying away from his phone or laptop is the hardest thing for him. 💻 HIs passion for technology made him excel at RACUOK, eventually landing him with us as one of the Vice Presidents.

Akshana is always willing to lend a hand and be your guardian of privacy. 🫱🏻🫲🏻 She's an expert in multitasking, 💯 with dedication that transcends the clock. ⏰ She'll even skip meals to complete her assigned tasks. 🙌🏻
She loves to talk 🦜 and is known for her intellect. 🤓 She's sympathetic to those in her club, taking care of them when we go out, and she's the first to take action when something needs to be done. 🫳🏻

Akshana has one of the best fashion skills. 🕺🏻 The way she carries herself with responsibilities is more fashionable than anything. 🔥 Regardless, this fashion guru always gets caught in a closet tornado 🌪️ and struggles to find the right attire when there's a special event. 💆🏻♀️
And just like those days, Akshana seemed to be playing a real-life game of hide-and-seek with her self. 🙈 She'd go missing, and in the end, 🔍 it is always because someone important was waiting for her to pick up. 😉🏡
With Akshana leading the way, RACUOK is secured in her capable leadership. 🥷🏻 She's a phenomenal individual and a pillar of strength for our club. 👩🏻🚒

Dhanushi is an expert at breaking her phone at the movie halls 🍿 and losing them as much as possible. 🤷🏻♀️ Whenever she heads out, she leaves her handbags, bling, and wallet which then become unexpected gifts for lucky souls. 🎁
Dhanushi tries her best to comfort her members when it comes to delegating work. 🫱🏻🫲🏻 But if they aren't responsive, she'll launch her official slogan to get the work done. 😌 "No work, no doughnuts!" 🍩 This is how tactically she completes her tasks. 😉

Sakuna is so fond of creating Excel Sheets. 📄🤓 He crafts individual Excel Sheets for every task he undertakes! 🥷🏻 So, it's no wonder how this Excel Man became the treasurer. 💸💰 But let's spare a thought for his soulmate. 🏃🏻♀ Imagine recording every task that his better half does. 🥱🤧
Our Treasurer සර් is also famous for his වැඩ කෝටියක් කරන්න තියෙනවා even if he doesn't have any work to do. So his වැඩ කෝටිය won’t end the same as his endless පණ්ඩිත talks. 🤭🥱
Sakuna tends to overthink and is keen on observing the expressions of the people around him. 😇 If you stay silent for too long near him, he'll create a separate Excel sheet for you and ask you some questions from the list. (ඇයි❔)

Despite being the heart-throb of the junior batch girls, he's never ventured into relationships. It's like he's got a "Do Not Disturb" sign on his heart, keeping it reserved for his true love – his work and responsibilities. 💔❤️
When stress knocks on his door, he panics! It's as if a dragon has appeared, and he needs a quick escape route. 🐉 (මගේ ඔලුව ගිනි අරන් තියෙන්නේ! 🤯🙆🏾) But fear not, he's always there to lend a helping hand when you're in need. 🤝

පුන්සිසි is a very passionate foodie, 😎 unlike any other. She has no regard for etiquette when it comes to food. 😋 පුන්සිසි forgets everything when she lays eyes on a delicious meal. 🍽️ She simply indulges herself and eats however she pleases. Not only that, but she can also prepare a wide variety of dishes in different ways. 👩🏻🍳 Furthermore, she loves discovering new foods, experimenting with cooking, and trying out new culinary experiences. 👩🏻🔬
Even though she can't hike the කැලණි කන්ද, පුන්සිසි has a goal of hiking. 🧗🏻♀️😹
Senara's exam භීතිකාව is quite the interesting topic. 🥲 On exam days, she would suddenly wake up early in the morning, 😵💫 spread her lecture materials around her, and memorize all the content by reciting her special mantra, 🧝🏻♀️ "අයියෝ මට බෑ 😩". The luckiest person who witnessed this incident said, 👀 "ඇද උස එරමිනිය ගොතාගෙන ඔලුවත් කස කස 🧟♂️ ආයෙ බලනවා ඔක්කොම lecture notes ටික. 🤦🏻♀️😅
Similar to her name පුන්සිසි, 🌝 containing "සිසි", this girl has a very big ticklish issue. 🤣 Even a single finger is enough to make her laugh harder and louder than you might expect. 🫨
And yes, jokes apart 😅, පුන්සිසි's writing skills are incredible. ✨ She is a wordsmith, playing a huge role behind the scenes at RACUOK. 📹
Moreover, she possesses exceptional organizational skills, 👩🏻🏭 as we have witnessed in the previous years. 😎 If she takes on a responsibility, 💪🏻 she always delivers the best outcome in the end. 🫱🏻🫲🏻

Meet Rtr. Chrish Shalini, one of the Co-Editors of RACUOK. 🖋️
Chrish has a history behind her name. 😵💫 Let's dive into the past; 📽️ specifically the 2000s when Chrish was born. 👼🏻 Supposedly, her parents intended to name her "Chrishalini". But unfortunately, karma just took a rollercoaster ride. 🎢 Finally the name in her birth certificate was stated as "Chrish Shalini". Hence, now we know her as Chrish. 😎
Chrish is quite a unique character. 🥸 She always tries to do something out of the ordinary whenever she could. 🥱 While others eat with their hands, ✋🏻 Chrish, on the other hand, might just decide to eat using her foot! 👉🏻👈🏻 👣 (අපි වෙනස්)
This person is very lovable, 🥰 and you can always see her 32 teeth outside her mouth when she smiles. 😁🤩 This individual is quite sensitive. 🥹 You know, she wears her heart 💖 on her sleeve and also ඒයි කිව්වත් අඩනවා. 🥲😭
Like a tubelight at dawn, some senses take a bit longer to light up. 💡 Our beloved Chrish also went through her 'tubelight era'. 😂 Her vocabulary has proven to have taken a turn from innocent to tad mischievous. 😌
Attention all kidnappers! 🥷🏻 Here's a great opportunity to kidnap a multi-talented girl without any foolproof plans. 🦹🏻♂️ Yes, you just need to show her some chocolate 🍫 and say, "දරුවෝ, you can keep it with you". That's all it takes to kidnap Chrish. 🤓 Whenever she leaves her home, her homies say to her, "පාරෙදී දන්නේ නැති අය Chocolate දුන්නොත් ගන්න එපා". 💁🏻♀️✋🏻
Chrish has a great relationship with animals, 🤩 💞 especially with dogs. 🐶 Dogs adore her, and they love to cuddle with her. 😻 She cherishes the dog at her boarding house. 🐕 (Chrish ට ආදරෙයි එයා) When she returns to her boarding house, the first thing she always does is call 📞 her roommate or the boarding aunty to open the gate. 🏠 It's like they have a 'Pawsome' welcome committee waiting for her! Dewminie loves watching rom-com movies. 😍 When it comes to scary movies, she'll definitely watch them too. 😌 However, she still gets scared like no other after watching them. 🫡🤭

Dewmine is one of the best singers in the University of Kelaniya. 👩🏻🎤 She was crowned the winner in an Inter-Rotaract Club singing competition. 🏆 She truly has a calm and sweet voice. Many RACUOK events wouldn't have been complete without a song sung by Dew. Whenever there's an event in RACUOK, we always find Dewminie to please the attendees with her magical voice. 💆🏻♂️🪽
Dew's mood swings are like an unpredictable whirlwind all the time. 😂 Sometimes her mood is as calm and clear as a blue sky, 🌥️ and at other times it's as stormy as thunder and lightning in a rainy sky. ⛈️ And her friends often say, "කාලගුණ විද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවටත් අපේ Dewmine challenge කරනවා". Yeah, Dew panics a lot, especially during her exams. 😵 Exams are like a living hell for her. 🥴 She doesn't even eat or drink and continuously studies trying to stay focused. 🙇🏼♀️
And any guesses on her dose of overthinking? 💊 It's none other than Charitha Attalage. ❤🩹 She's a die-hard fan of his. And yes, his voice just heals her. 💕

Besides singing, this superstar loves sleeping too much. 💤 Especially the nap after lunch. 😋 He gets more upset and a bit annoyed if someone wakes him up in the middle of a good sleep. 😴
Yasiru can't control his hunger either. 🙂 He eats a lot, but he never gains weight. 😌 He wants to go to the gym and do some workouts, but no! His laziness takes precedence in all of the above. 😂 But he always craves to hear someone say, "යසිරු ඔයා මහත් වෙලා" 🦫 He is very fond of avocados 🥑 and detests wood apple due to its smell. 🤮 He also enjoys biscuit pudding. Oh, and he is quite the accomplished cook, excelling in preparing various types of curries. 😌🍲
He is cautious about his health, but even if he sees dust, he gets caught by a cold with five or six sneezes at a time following up with a headache. 🤧😷
When you hear the word 'SIUUU' from Yasiru, it means Yasiru is happy, 😺 and the only word he has in his mouth is 'Ronaldo', as he is a die hard fan of him. ⚽ No matter how much he loves sleep, he would definitely sacrifice it to watch a football game. 🥹
