In the dynamic world of business and innovation, entrepreneurship is essential for advancing boundaries and boosting economic growth. Arambana ’24 is an initiative led by the Finance Avenue of the Rotaract Cub of University of Kelaniya. The finance team of the avenue has embarked on a transformative journey to foster entrepreneurship and innovation. This remarkable project focused on supporting innovative business ideas and to empower aspiring entrepreneurs, drive economic growth, and inspire positive change within the community.
The project Arambana ’24 initiated with an Entrepreneurship Workshop about How to start a new business venture and how to promote a new business on 16th of February 2024 through Zoom witnessed by over 200 attendees. The guest speaker of the workshop was Mr. Madushanka Wijewickrama (Mr. Third Eye), Digital Marketing Strategist, Business Third Eye.

With the introduction about new business ideas and promoting them through social media, he continued the session. And also, at the end of the workshop session the participants were able to ask questions and clarify their doubts.
The second phase of the project Arambana ’24 was a competition on Innovative Business Ideas & Startups. The team along with the experts shortlisted the competitors who have registered to the competition and moved forward with the grand finale of the competition.
The grand finale was held on 02nd of March 2024 at Sunil Shantha Memorial Auditorium of University of Kelaniya with ten finalists. For this memorable day Mr. Dhanuka Liyanagamage, Director of National Enterprise Development Authority, Ms Bhagya Nakalanda, Enterprise Development Officer of Enterprise Development Authority, Mr. Sameera Jayathilaka, Head of Marketing of Browns Engineering and Construction (Pvt) Ltd and Mr. Madhushkanka Wijewickrama, CEO of Business Third Eye granted us the expansion by being our guests and also our judges.

The winner of the project Arambana ’24 Mr. Rukshan Malishka was an undergraduate of University of Moratuwa. His AI powered image generator impressed our panel of judges with its groundbreaking approach to the AI image generator with Sinhala Prompt. This innovative idea stood out for its potential to make a significant impact in the AI industry.
We would like to express our gratitude to the organizing committee for all of their efforts in making this project possible as we celebrate this significant occasion. The organizing committee held interesting fund-raising activities to cover up the budget. Also, the team was able to raise our silver sponsorship from Karunarathne Stores and a Bronze Sponsorship from Chanaka Brass along with two gift partners Naturals Unisex Salon and CBL Group.

The Finance Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya is a prime example of how innovation and entrepreneurship can change a community. Through fostering creative business concepts and hosting startup contests, Finance Avenue encourages members to take risks, make decisive decisions, and have a significant impact on the finance and business industries.
Through collaborative efforts, strategic partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to excellence, the project Arambana’24 strives to unlock the potential of every aspiring entrepreneur.
