I joined the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya in May 2022, embarking on a journey that would significantly shape my personal and professional growth. My initial involvement was with the International Services Avenue, where I actively participated in every project. This experience provided me with a solid foundation and an understanding of how impactful teamwork and community service can be.

After a few months, I was given the opportunity to lead as a team leader in the Digital Media avenue. This role was crucial in developing my leadership skills. Working on various projects such as Merge, Intellia, and Project Mehewara, I not only contributed to the success of these initiatives but also formed lasting friendships with fellow Rotaractors. These relationships and collaborative efforts enriched my first year in Rotaract, making it both memorable and transformative.

In my second year, I took on the responsibility of being the Co-Director of the Digital Media Avenue. This position was both challenging and rewarding. Managing an entire avenue enhanced  my leadership abilities. I grew a lot during this time, learning how to delegate tasks, communicate well, and work together as a team. One of the highlights of my Rotaract journey was receiving the Most Outstanding Director of the Year award at the RotaTomorrow 4.0 awards night. This recognition was a significant milestone for me, reflecting the hard work and dedication I invested in my role.

Overall, my Rotaract journey has been an invaluable investment in my life. It has equipped me with essential skills, provided numerous opportunities for personal development, and allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the community. The experiences and friendships I’ve gained will remain with me, guiding me in my future endeavors.
