My Rotaract journey began in 2024 with a heart full of curiosity and a desire to be part of something meaningful. My first project was Fun Fest, where I served as a project member. It was more than just an event—it was my first step into a world of laughter, teamwork, and new friendships. I still remember how excited I felt, not just about the project itself, but about meeting passionate individuals who shared the same spark for service and growth.

Soon after, I joined Team 12 of the Rota Tomorrow Competition. That decision changed everything. Among all the chapters of my Rotaract journey, the most transformative one was undoubtedly Adaren Waruwak. When the project began, I didn’t know anyone on the team—not my mentor, not my leader, not even my fellow members. But within a matter of days, something magical happened. The unknown faces became trusted friends. The tasks became passions. And the team became a family.
A heartfelt thank you goes to my mentor Wikshi Akka and my team leader Lihini, who guided me with so much love, wisdom, and patience. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to embrace my role as the ER Coordinator. What I experienced through Adaren Waruwak was more than just organizational learning. It was about building human connections, understanding the power of kindness, and creating something beautiful together.
We laughed late into the night, bonded over every small win, and stood strong during challenges. We celebrated 12 awards, including Best Team Spirit and the RotaTomorrow 4.0 Championship. But the true reward was the bond we formed. Our Aurorian Family was not just a team name; it was a feeling. It was home. I will forever carry with me the love I felt, the strength I discovered, and the pride of being named the Most Outstanding ER Coordinator—a title that means the world because it was shared with the most inspiring team I could ever ask for.
With the lessons and confidence from Adaren Waruwak, I stepped into my next adventure as the Project Coordinator of DHAARA 2.0. There, I had the chance to collaborate with international Rotaractors, expanding my friendships beyond borders. I later joined We Care as an ER Coordinator, where I continued to strengthen my skills and passion for impactful service.
Another major highlight of my journey was Ignite Sri Lanka. In this project, I proudly served as the Finance Coordinator and was entrusted with a beautiful mission: supporting the education sector in Thammabbawa and Kokmaduwa villages. Together with the team, we donated school items and two brand-new printers to under-resourced schools in those areas. I still remember the smiles on the children’s faces, their eyes lighting up with joy and gratitude. That moment reminded me why I chose this path—to give, to uplift, and to create hope in little hearts.

As my passion deepened, I applied to the Board of Officials and was honored to be selected as the Director of the Member Relations Avenue. This role was a milestone for me—a new responsibility and a new chapter. With Rottas 6.9, I found yet another family that continues to inspire me every single day. My first project as Director, Rota Romp ’24, was a beautiful success thanks to the dedication and unity of my incredible OC kiddos.

Looking back, I realize that Rotaract has shaped me in countless ways. It has given me friendships that feel like family, opportunities that built my confidence, and a deeper understanding of service and leadership. But above all, Adaren Waruwak will always hold a special place in my heart. It was where I found not only my passion but my family in Rotaract—a journey that I will carry with love and pride forever.
