I never expected one decision in my first year to become such an important part of my life. Joining Rotaract wasn’t just about trying something new, it slowly became a space where I found myself, my people, and my passion for doing more. What started as curiosity turned into a journey full of growth, challenges, and unforgettable moments.
My first step into this journey was as the Co-Chair of the 15th Installation Ceremony. That experience truly motivated me to continue my Rotaract journey. After that, I got involved in five different projects, taking on different roles and learning something new every single time. Club Service became the place I connected with the most, while Public Relations Avenue helped me bring out my creative side and grow as a Team Leader, shaping me into the leader I am today. Those experiences built my confidence and shaped the way I work with others.

This term, stepping into the role of Co-Director of the Club Service Avenue has been both an honor and a challenge. So far, I’ve had the opportunity to provide leadership for two successfully concluded projects and continue guiding two ongoing projects. One of the most special moments for me was leading the 16th Installation Ceremony as a Co-Director, coming full circle from where I first started. Along with our dedicated organizing committee, we were able to make it a remarkable success.

Another proud milestone was Christinzel’25, which became a memorable and successful project through teamwork and commitment. At the same time, being part of ongoing projects like Rota Wasantha Udanaya’26, one of the most significant events of the Club Service Avenue, and Kelani Handawa’26, which we are still shaping into a beautiful and unforgettable experience for undergraduates, has been incredibly rewarding. These experiences taught me how to balance responsibility, handle challenges, and lead with patience and understanding.

As a director, I was lucky to have such supportive Co-Directors who truly became my go to people, along with fellow directors and amazing organizing committees. Their support made everything easier and more meaningful. More than anything, it’s the friendships I built and the memories we created together that I value the most. Their encouragement and teamwork made every challenge easier and every success more meaningful. Beyond the projects and achievements, it is these friendships and bonds that truly define my RACUOK journey.

Looking back, these two years with the RACUOK family have been the most unforgettable and meaningful part of my university life. Rotaract didn’t just teach me how to lead, it taught me how to believe in myself, how to work with people, and how to create something impactful together. The memories, the laughter, the challenges, and the growth will always stay with me, reminding me of a journey that shaped who I am today.
