Sometimes, the people around us inspire us to take steps that later become life-changing moments. For me, that inspiration came from my friends. During my second year at university, I saw many of them actively involved in Rotaract. Their passion, teamwork, and exciting experiences made me curious and inspired me to join.
My first step into Rotaract was as a prospect member during the 15th Installation 2025, organized by the Club Service Avenue. I joined as an ER member without knowing much about the club. But working with the directors and members helped me understand the true spirit of Rotaract—teamwork, friendship, and service. What started as curiosity soon became passion.
After that, I officially joined through the second intake and became part of the Club Service Avenue. One of my first projects was Christinzel’24, where I again served as an ER Coordinator. This project helped me improve my communication skills, gain confidence, and build strong connections within the club.
A major milestone in my journey was becoming the Chair of Rota Wasantha Udanaya 2025. It was my first time leading a project, and it taught me valuable lessons about responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Seeing the project become successful after all our efforts was one of the proudest moments of my journey.
In Term 25/26, I was selected as a Director, which became another unforgettable chapter in my Rotaract life. A special thank you to the President for trusting me and selecting me for this role. That trust meant a lot and motivated me to give my best.
I would also like to thank my Co-Directors of the Club Service Avenue ( Dinuki, Nimthara) , they give their full support and help in making our project success. And sometimes they give advice to me and I like to Thank, Directors of other avenues for their support, guidance, and friendship throughout the journey.
During this term, I had the opportunity to contribute to projects such as the 16th Installation, Christinzel’25, Rota Wasantha Udanaya, and Kelani Handawa. Each experience helped me grow and learn something new.
Looking back, Rotaract has given me more than projects and positions. It has given me friendships, memories, confidence, and growth.
For me, Rotaract is not just a club it is a journey that helped me become a better version of myself.
