World Forestry Day

“The lush green woods are the lungs of the Earth”

The key features that are rich in biodiversity in the world are the forests, where diversified flora and fauna species are sheltered. According to the records, 30% of forest cover has expanded within the world’s land, and more than 13 million hectares are lost annually. Concerning the dramatic factors that are hazardous to life on Earth, global communities raised their voices to preserve the forests, educating the communities on the importance of trees.
The path to nominating a special day for forest conservation can be elaborated as follows:
In 1971, World Forestry Day was established to be held on March 21. It was proposed by the voted-upon state members at the conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization. Later, the United Nations General Assembly initiated the International Year of Forests in 2011. The United Nations designated March 21 as the International Day of Forests, and the first International Day of Forests was celebrated in 2013.

International Day of Forests is observed on March 21 every year to make the public aware of the contribution of forests to global existence by conducting tree-planting projects throughout the world.

“Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World” has been nominated as the theme for World Forestry Day this year.
Let’s delve into the crucial role the green world plays in the well-being of the world.
•The trees perform their duty as natural purifiers, absorbing CO2 and releasing O2 into the world.
• People tend to use renewable energy because it’s a sustainable method of protecting the ecosystem.
• The worst impacts that can arise with climate change have been reduced with forest coverage.
• The soil erosion is prevented along with preserving the soil quality.
• The essentials for human survival, such as food with medicinal value, are produced.
• The forest coverage maintains global warming by controlling the temperature.
• A safer background is designed for millions of species to survive.

With regard to this year’s theme of World Forest Day, the exigencies of technological knowledge for fighting against deforestation are taken into account, including initiating early warning systems to reduce the damage caused by wildfires and restoring the ecosystem that is damaged due to various activities.
It is reported that five years of the program, “AIM4Forests” have been launched by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the alliance of governments to monitor the forests utilizing inventive technical trends.
The green world is the safest environment, ensuring the survival of upcoming generations.
