They say the best journeys are the ones you never plan. It all started with a concert. Rotrallia—a night filled with music, lights, and energy. Little did I know, that one night would lead me to something far bigger than a great evening. Back then, I had no clue what Rotaract really was, but something about the vibe—the teamwork, the creativity, the sheer excitement—pulled me in. Fast-forward a little, and there I was, officially stepping into my very first project, Spotlight 2.0. Stepping into the role of an editor for this flagship initiative by the Sports and Recreational Activities (SR) Avenue, I had no idea that this would be the first page of a beautiful chapter in my life.
Back then, I was just excited to be part of something. Little did I know I’d be thrown into the deep end of back-to-back edits, and those infamous “quick catch-up calls” that somehow lasted two hours minimum. Lol
But it was the start of something extraordinary. When creating those write-ups that captured moments, I was building not just content—but connections.
Driven by the fire that Spotlight 2.0 sparked in me, I stepped up to become a Team Leader for the SR Avenue. With that title came new responsibilities, countless learnings, and the privilege of leading with purpose. It was a journey of trial and error of ideas turned into action, and most importantly, of believing in myself even when the path got tough.
(Spoiler: leading a team isn’t all motivational speeches; it’s also about surviving group chats that never sleep and figuring out how to say “gentle reminder” in 17 different ways.)

Eventually, I found myself stepping into the shoes of Co-Director of the very same avenue that sparked it all. It was more than just a title—it was a space to create, lead, and bring visions to life. And oh, we did make some history. It was here that I had the honor of initiating two signature projects, “Down the Wicket ’24” and “Spotlight 3.0”. These weren’t just events; they were milestones, moments and the kind of pride that only comes from creating something meaningful with the people you love.
But here’s the twist—my journey wasn’t just about writing or planning. I’ve always had a love for sports. I grew up being part of games and teams. So, getting the chance to participate in the Rotaract Champions League for both swimming and athletics was a personal high.

But beyond the roles and titles, it’s the people that made this journey unforgettable. Teammates turned into friends, mentors into family. Some owned a space in my heart so effortlessly that it’s hard to imagine this journey without them. Through the highs and lows, the celebrations and setbacks, they were there.
There were times when things got overwhelming. When tasks piled up, when sleep was a luxury, and when things didn’t go as planned. But those moments taught me resilience, time management, and the power of showing up. And through it all, we found time for joy—inside jokes during calls, spontaneous photo dumps, and memories that now live rent-free in my heart.
Rotaract has given me more than I expected. It gave me a space to grow, a platform to create, and a family to lean on. For every opportunity I got, every challenge I took, and every lesson I learned—I’m endlessly grateful.
And the best part? I don’t think this journey is ending anytime soon. I think it’s only getting started. A beginning built on passion, purpose, and the unwavering belief that when you put your heart into something, it will take you far
