Project HopeBlooms

Project HopeBlooms marked the final initiative for the year 2025/26 organized by the International Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya. The project aimed to create awareness about Down syndrome, break societal misconceptions, and promote inclusion and equal opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome. To expand its impact globally, the initiative ws carried out in collaboration with Rotaract Club of University Agriculture Faisalabad, Rotaract Club de Alphaville, Rotaract Club of M.L. Dahanukar College, Rotaract Club of Izmit, Rotaract Club of Kitgum, and Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town.

The project was implemented under three phases. The first phase focused on a social media awareness campaign through a dedicated Instagram platform to educate society and break misconceptions surrounding Down syndrome. As the second phase of Project HopeBlooms, the organizing committee visited and made a monetary donation while spending meaningful and heartwarming moments with the children and individuals there. In addition, the Indian and Turkish collaborating clubs implemented similar initiatives within their own countries. The final phase was the launch of an online magazine featuring the project journey and an inspiring interview with Nilshani De Silva.

Through international collaboration, Project HopeBlooms created both local and global impact by spreading awareness, inclusion, and acceptance beyond borders.
