Career Fair 2026

Career Fair 2026, organized by the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Rotaract, LEO, LED, Gavel, and AIESEC, once again served as a strong bridge between academia and the professional world. With the guidance of Director of the CGU, Senior Professor Dikushi Senaratne, and the support of the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the initiative continued its purpose of connecting undergraduates with meaningful career pathways and real industry exposure. More than an annual event, it created an environment where students could step beyond theoretical learning and engage directly with the realities of the evolving job market.

Held over four open days in February at the Social Sciences Auditorium, Career Fair 2026 brought together a diverse range of well-recognized organizations, offering students direct interaction with industry professionals. The series began on 3rd February with MAS Holdings and North Sails, followed by Sisili and CBL on 11th February, Brandix and Keells on 18th February, and A. Baur & Co. (Pvt) Ltd along with Abans PLC on 24th February. Each session provided unique insights into different industries, helping students understand workplace expectations, professional standards, and the skills required to succeed in modern careers.

Beyond company presentations, the fair created valuable opportunities for students to engage in interview sessions conducted at the Career Guidance Unit. These real recruitment-style interactions allowed undergraduates to experience professional environments firsthand, build confidence, and develop communication and presentation skills. For many, it was their first direct exposure to how employers assess candidates, turning preparation into practical experience.

The success of Career Fair 2026 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Career Guidance Unit together with Rotaract, LEO, LED, Gavel, and AIESEC, whose collaboration ensured the smooth execution of the event and enriched the overall experience for participants. More than just a platform for opportunities, the event became a space for discovery, networking, and personal growth.

Ultimately, Career Fair 2026 was not simply about finding jobs or internships. It was about shaping perspective, building confidence, and guiding undergraduates toward a clearer understanding of their future paths and potential.
