The blood donation camp, ‘Daayada’ was a joined project organized by the Rotaract clubs of Colombo West and the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya, under the guidance of the avenue of Community Service. The main objective was to collect blood per the urgent request of the Thalassemia Care Centre of Ragama hospital due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
This noble cause was held on the 8th of December 2021 from 9 am to 3 pm at Ragama medical faculty. We are delighted to state that 40+ donors lend a hand on the said day. The whole procedure was done following the covid guidelines.
Blood donation is a most vital part of healthcare. We were lucky enough to fulfill our responsibility for humanity. So the special thank to give this opportunity for us goes to the Dean of the faculty of medicine, heads of faculty of medicine, the entire staff, and students of faculty of medicine, university of Kelaniya. And also hospital crew of Ragama and Gampaha as well. Then we would like to thank the blood bank for their service. We would like to thank every donor as well.
The page named WS creations sponsored us to become successful. Then our very own rotaractors gave their kind hand to make the event more effective. Donations in the sense some members gave water bottles, refreshment things and also money to see the event properly. No one has ever become poor by giving. Thank you for all donations you gave us with kind hearts.
Sometimes money can’t save a life but blood donated blood can. It is a pleasure to organize a blood donation drive to save humanity.
