If I really look back at where my Rotaract journey began, it wasn’t with some grand master plan. It started purely out of excitement! I still remember listening to the stories from our batch seniors about traveling, doing actual groundwork, and making a real difference. Drawn by that energy, I decided to step into the Community Service Avenue for the 2024-2025 term. My very first milestone was being a part of the Ignite Sri Lanka 1.0 project. I must give a huge, heartfelt thank you to Darshi akka,Dinanga akka and Ravindu Aiya, and our overlooking VP pabamini akka for guiding me and being such a massive part of that initial chapter. ❤️✨

While I was still pouring my energy into project Ignite Sri Lanka,I wanted to branch out and experience more of the club’s culture, so I joined MR Avenue to work on the Rota Romp organizing committee. That decision changed everything for me. Not only did I connect with so many amazing individuals, but it was also the exact place where I met someone incredibly special, but I’ll save that story for the end..🥰

Because of the dedication I showed during the initial phases of Ignite, I was given the amazing opportunity to step up as a Team Leader right from the committee. I was surrounded by the best Co-TLs I could have ever asked for Chamodi akka , Sasith, and Sayuri akka. That dynamic led me straight into Ignite 2.0 – Research, where I worked closely with Sasith as my Co-TL. I really need to take a moment to specifically thank Sasith for being an amazing partner.And Chamodi akka, who was always there to support me and guide me like my sister  ❤️

During that same 2024-2025 term, my journey took a creative turn when I finally got to work on Swabhasamudra 2.0. The project I had dreamed of joining from day one. I was tasked with overseeing its PR. Pushing through those responsibilities was challenging but so rewarding, all thanks to our powerhouse PR team. A massive shoutout to Pahan, Wishwa, Nadeesha akka, Savindi akka and Sulakshana akka for your endless support. You guys were phenomenal. Around this time, I also had my first beautiful experience with Rota Tomorrow. For the project ළබැඳි  I was a Co-TL alongside Thamara Aiya. I owe my deepest gratitude to him, and my mentor Chamindu aiya and also Nethara akka for being there for me, and the entire OC for making it such an unforgettable experience. ❤️

Then came the 2025-2026 term, and I took my biggest leap of faith yet. I applied for the Board of Directors and was overwhelmingly honored to be appointed as the Director of Environmental Service Avenue. Serving alongside my amazing Co-director, Sayuri akka, and under the constant, patient guidance of our Overlooking VP Pahan, we poured our hearts into executing massive initiatives like Swabhasamudra and Harithaswara. Being a director is an entirely different level of stress and responsibility, and honestly, none of it would have been remotely possible without the immense dedication of our OCs and our four incredible Team Leaders Kemil, Imashi, Thiviru and Dinithi ,You all stood firmly by our side through every late-night meeting and chaotic planning session, and I am so incredibly proud of what we achieved together. ❤️🥺

This 2025-2026 term also brought my Rota Tomorrow journey full circle, as I took on the role of a Mentor for the Roots to Routes project. Working with this OC has been an absolute privilege. Special love goes out to my two incredible TLs, Sashmika and Kaushalya. We built one of the best OCs ever, it honestly didn’t just feel like a team; it felt like a family, a true bond. I look back at our time together with so much love and pride for everything they managed to accomplish. 🥺

But if I am being completely honest, looking back at both terms, beyond the projects, the leadership titles, and the unforgettable trips, Rotaract gave me something I never saw coming. Remember that Rota Romp project I mentioned from my first year? That was where I found my absolute rock. To the special person who entered my life through this club, who has supported me through every single project, calmed my anxieties, and stood by me in every aspect of my life… I am endlessly grateful to you. Finding the person who is always there for me has been the most beautiful, defining part of this entire journey, and I will forever be grateful to RACUOK for bringing us together. ❤️✨
