Coming from the Faculty of Computing and Technology, joining Rotaract was never a part of my university plans.
Thanks to Hiumie, Eranda and I joined Rotaract with the second intake last year. To be honest, we were completely lost. We kept filling out Google Forms without knowing what Rotaract was all about. One day, simply because we were bored, we decided to participate in an event called Rota Romp. It took us a few hours just to understand what the Main Avenues were and to figure out which one was ours.
Little did I know that day would completely change my Rotaract journey.

I realized I had chosen the right avenue because of the way the members treated us, even though we were new. I should thank my directors, Darshi Akka, Dinanga Akka and Ravindu Ayya, as well as my Vice President Paba Akka, for giving me the opportunity to join an Organizing Committee through Swbhasamudra 2.0 as a PR Coordinator.
Being an OC member helped me discover qualities in myself that I never knew existed. I still remember creating my very first PR material, which was a flyer, and redesigning it nearly 18 times. At the time, it felt frustrating, but looking back, it was one of the most valuable lessons I learned.

From then onwards, Swbhasamudra and Community Service became a place I truly loved. It wasn’t only because of the projects but because of the people I met along the way: Eranda, Sayuri Akka, Savindi Akka, Sulakshana Akka, Senura, Sasith, Rukshila Akka, Dilini, Chamodi akka, Dinithi and Nadesha Akka. I participated in every phase of the project because I knew those were memories I was making only once.
Later, I was given the opportunity to serve as the Co-Chairperson of Project Haritha Siripa, taking on a leadership role for the first time in my Rotaract journey. It was always my directors and Vice President who saw potential in me and continuously gave me opportunities to grow.
Then came Ignite Sri Lanka and Project Piyawara. Around the same time, I also got the opportunity to join Rota Tomorrow Team 6 alongside Eranda, Anuji, Shehal Ayya and my mentor, Shafa Akka.
At the end of the term, I was lucky to become the First Runner-Up for the Most Outstanding PR Coordinator at Rota Tomorrow. And just like that, the term came to an end.

I remember hearing my friends congratulate me during the farewell when I was announced as one of the Vice Presidents for the term 2025–26. Looking back, what started as a random decision on an ordinary day had become one of the most meaningful parts of my university life.
I am forever grateful to Himantha Ayya and Delishia Akka for trusting me with that responsibility and allowing me to serve in their Executive Committee.

I was fortunate to work alongside my amazing friends: Hiumie, Isurika, Anuji, Kareema, Shehal Ayya, and Deepna Akka.
Being a Vice President overseeing three avenues was never easy. What made it possible were the people around me who guided, supported, and believed in me every step of the way.
To my six directors, Dinithi, Chamodi Akka, Sayuri Akka, Dilini, Netma, and Hansi Akka — thank you.
To be honest, at first, I doubted whether we could successfully manage three avenues with an all-girls team. But each of these six individuals proved how possible it was. And to my 12 podi rottas (Nadun,Sayuru,Himashi,Kemil,Imashi,Thiviru,Dinithi,Dilmi,Supunya,Kavishva & Navodya) from all three avenues, thank you for putting up with all the duties I gave you, always showing up when needed, and supporting me every step of the way.

Looking back, I am proud of what we achieved. Projects such as Ignite Sri Lanka 2.0, Their Voice, Swbhasamudra 3.0, Harithaswara, Down the Wicket ’25 and Spotlight 4.0 grew beyond expectations and reached new heights thanks to you all and members I met along the way.
None of this would have been possible without the guidance, ideas, and advice I continuously received from my President, Himantha Ayya. I am also grateful for the support and comfort provided by every member of the EXCO whenever things got tough. I will truly miss the long meetings we had, the endless discussions, and all the DMs telling me to stop yapping.
One thing I will always remember is how the Board Directors showed up to support the events of my avenues. Their presence meant so much, and it reminded me how fortunate I was to be part of such a supportive Board. From CS to SR and Editorial to RE, it was a great experience getting to know all of you.
I should also thank my friends from the faculty — Suneth, Kavindu, Dilum, and many others — who helped me balance academics alongside Rotaract responsibilities. Without that support, I might genuinely have failed some of my academics.

I never planned to join Rotaract. But somewhere between the projects, the people, and the memories, it became a place I couldn’t imagine leaving. Rotaract became a part of who I am. It taught me responsibility, leadership, friendship, and service. It gave me memories, opportunities, and people who will always remain close to my heart.
But now, it is time to say goodbye.
I wish nothing but success for the years ahead. To the new leaders, with a new color and a new theme — Continue taking this club to greater heights than ever before. Continue serving our community, our university, and everyone around you with passion and purpose.
Thank you for giving me a journey I will never forget.
