Hey there, readers! I’m thrilled to share my incredible Rotaract journey at the University of Kelaniya with all of you. As a proud member of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya, I had the opportunity to serve, learn, and build lifelong friendships. During my first year, under the leadership of Rtr. Kisal Ekanayake, I joined the Rotaract Club with endless enthusiasm. However, I was initially unsure on how to contribute effectively.

Firstly, I had the privilege of extending my first contribution to the club through an acting role in a project video of Hear Me, where I portrayed a character who struggles from depression, which focused on shedding light on the significance of mental health awareness. One day, a call for PR agents caught my attention in our main WhatsApp group. I decided to apply, despite having little idea about what it entailed. Guided by Rtr. Nirmani and Rtr. Dilsha, my first task was simply sharing members’ birthdays. It was a small start, but it marked my first service to the club. Soon, I became a social media agent, managing the official Facebook page of RACUOK. Additionally, I was appointed as a Team leader in the PR Avenue, gaining invaluable leadership experience. Participating in the transformative RotaTomorrow 2.0 project further honed my teamworking skills.

During my second term, I eagerly applied for the role of PR Director and was fortunate to work alongside my Co-Director Rtr. Lakni Perera. Supported by a talented team including Rtr. Hiruni, Rtr. Santusha, and Rtr. Thinuka, we accomplished significant initiatives, boosting the club’s reputation. I had the incredible opportunity to contribute as a mentor for Team Vamos, led by the remarkable Rtr. Dewmini, implementing the impactful RotaTomorrow 3.0 initiative. It was indeed a rewarding experience, and I was amazed by the dedication and passion of the team. Additionally, I had the privilege of traveling to Matara to join a donation program, further deepening my commitment to serving those in need.

Beyond accomplishments, what made my Rotaract journey extraordinary was the sense of family within the club. The warmth, support, and unforgettable memories we shared created lasting friendships. Rotaract felt like a second home, where professionalism and friendship coexisted harmoniously. Reflecting on my Rotaract experience fills me with gratitude. The opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and the friendships I formed are invaluable. I am profoundly grateful for the privilege of serving alongside inspiring individuals.
