“A pool game mixes ritual with geometry”
“Pool Masters 2016” became one of the perfect and the most awaited evenings for most of the Rotaractors. It was a pool tournament organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya for the first time under the Finance Avenue. Raising funds was not the only target of this project, but also to enhance the fellowship among the Rotaractors of various Rotaract Clubs. This project was co-chaired by the Co-Directors of Finance, Rtr. Lahiru Rajapaksha and Rtr. Rashmi Lankeshwarage.
“Pool Masters 2016” was held on the 11th of December 2016 from 12.00 p.m. onwards at Potluck, Bambalapitiya. This tournament was conducted as a knockout series with the participation of 32 players, both Rotaractors and Non Rotaractors. After several game rounds Rtr. Sanjaya Lakmal (RCUoK) and Avishka Dilan got selected to the finals. Dilan became the winner of the “Pool Masters 2016” after a tight match with Sanjaya. The cash prizes of Rs.5000 and Rs.2500 were given to the winner and the runner-up respectively.
“Pool Masters 2016” marked another successful project of the annual diary of Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya and the project was concluded successfully raising a significant amount funds for future projects.
