Know your best is a workshop organized by the Professional Development Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya along with the SL2 College. The workshop was held targeting all the undergraduates of all faculties on 11^th of November 2015. The project was chaired by Rtr. Maheshi, Rtr. Darshatha Gamage and Rtr. Shenali Perera. Starting off the workshop Rtr. Maheshi made the welcome speech.

Know your best workshop was carried out in two phases. In the first phase the first speaker Mr. Kaushalya Madhawa gave a clear understanding about what SL2 College is, what research collaboration and higher education is. Throughout his speech he highlighted the importance of thinking about higher education after completing the degree at university. He showed the educational opportunities undergraduates have in abroad and how SL2 College can help in that process. Also he spoke about how a correct research should be carried out which is very important to know as undergraduates.

In the second phase of the workshop the key speaker Mr. Arj Wignaraja, founder and the vice president of Operations Remote Sensing Metrics spoke about how we as undergraduates should plan about our career and how we can be our own boss by starting up a company. He shared his own experiences about how he started his company. He also mentioned that there are many Sri Lankan companies which generate lot of revenue but they don’t have recognition in their own country. As a result we as undergraduates mostly only think about joining multinational companies but not this Sri Lanka companies.  Finally Mr Arj mentioned about how valuable it is to do what you like and what you have the capability of.

At the end of the workshop it was very motivational for all the undergraduates who participated in finding out their potential and also their capabilities. The workshop was concluded with a vote of thanks made by Rtr. Shenali Perera.

A special mention should be done by appreciating the cooperation given by Ms. Chamli Mendis  (Administrative Director – Seminar Team) in organizing this workshop successfully.
