Bonds Beyond Boundaries

The International Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya proudly presents its achievement of reaching out to 100 foreign Rotaract Clubs around the world with a letterhead exchange under the project ‘Bonds Beyond Boundaries.’ The project ‘Bonds Beyond Boundaries’ started right in the beginning of the Rotaract term 2022/23 in the month of June 2023. Though directly Bonds Beyond Boundaries focuses on ‘International Understanding’, indirectly all the connections developed as an ultimatum of Bonds Beyond Boundaries helped in organizing and executing IS projects which focused on the betterment of the global community.

Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya was the first club in our Rotaract District to complete 100 letter exchanges within one Rotaract term.  This project consisted of three phases. The first phase was the letter exchanges which exceeded 100. The second phase of this project was to conduct ‘Cultural Exchange Programmes’ based on these letter exchange programmes. During these cultural exchange programmes, the members of our Rotaract Club as well as the foreign Rotaract Club joins one Zoom meeting and exchanged ideas about the cultures of our countries. Through this initiative, we were able to accomplish various projects like ‘Zoom-in’ along with the Rotaract Club of PDEU, India which was held in December 2022 and became a great success. Also, another project called ‘DHAARA’ based on the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations Organization was held in February 2023 along with the same foreign Rotaract Club. The third phase of the project ‘Bonds Beyond Boundaries’; project E-talk, was a project focusing on developing effective communication of fellow Rotaractors who exchanged letterheads with the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya.

So, we were able to achieve a lot of tremendous achievements through the project ‘Bonds Beyond Boundaries’,

  • Exchange cultural diversities through the Cultural Exchange Programmes.
  • Collaborate with clubs for various International Service Avenue initiatives.
  • Plan and execute projects with insights from different clubs and members involved.
  • Develop fellowship across boundaries.
  • Getting to know fellow Rotaractors from other foreign clubs and getting to know their members if the Executive Committees.

Thus, Bonds Beyond Boundaries is an ultimate symbol of fellowship and ever-lasting bonds that will keep all Rotaract clubs involved in this initiative bound together as one.
