The second joint meeting with our twin club; Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Spectrum was held on the 25th of September 2021 from 7.30 pm onwards via google meet. It was a joint speaker meeting which was focused on discussing the topic, ‘Two Countries and their Future’.

The meeting was called to order by Rtr.Kisal Ekanayake, President of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya and Rtr.Priya Sri, President of Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Spectrum recited the Rotaract prayer and welcomed the gathering. The speaker of the night, Rtr.PP.Vikash, District Trainer, Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Spectrum was introduced by Rtr.Osura Vindula, Co-director of the International Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya.

Before the commencement of the speaker’s session, Rtr.Sabarinathan from the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Spectrum hosted a fun element that was simple but very interesting. All what the participants had to do was to find out the item denoted by the phrase given by the host and say “cheers” after finding the particular item. When the host asked, “the container which holds your morning drink”, they were supposed to bring a mug or a cup and when he asked, “I love to sleep with _ _ _ _y”, the audience was supposed to show their teddy. All the attendees enthusiastically played this game and got the opportunity to have a good workout session by running all around the house.

The proceedings were then handed over to the speaker, Rtr.PP.Vikash and he began the discussion forwarding the gathering a straightforward question, “Who is the future of a country?” Many responses were given in an instant and throughout the discussion, the participants were very interactive. By touching on some main aspects like politics, culture and education in both countries, the speaker was able to give the audience a valuable insight about the role of the youth in creating a great future for the country.

When it was time for felicitations, members from both the clubs expressed their feelings about the meeting and mentioned that they were able to gain a lot of knowledge from the speaker’s session as well as that they had a good time playing the game.

Rtr.Akshaya, Secretary of Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Spectrum, offered the vote of thanks by extending her gratitude to the speaker and all the members from both the clubs and finally, the meeting was adjourned by Rtr.Kisal Ekanayake, President of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya.
