Youngsters with a mindset of punching a clock try their best to experience new investment options with their hard-earned money.
Unfortunately, with the extensive spreading of unethical money concepts, they are the ones who are more likely to fall into the trap. Since undergraduates have faced this unpleasant experience in humongous numerals, the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya, literally being the strength of people and the power of community, emerged with a constructive concept.
The project “Investor’21” was launched with the utmost supervision of the Finance Team. It was set in motion as a webinar series, which specifically targeted the undergraduates who possessed a keen interest in stock market-related facets.
The sole intention of the webinar series was to familiarize the concept of investment in an unerring financial institution. The guest speaker of the webinar was Mr. Vinod Payagala, Managing Director – PNJ Consultants private Limited.
He kept the first step by explaining the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), which operates the stock market in Sri Lanka. The webinar intended to raise awareness among the attendees regarding the financial market, stock exchange and vigilant investment. In addition to that, the enthusiasm of the participants was highly visible, and the organizers of the event made sure that each doubt was cleared with utmost accuracy.
It is with paramount pleasure we declare that the session concluded following an utmost success witnessed by 800+ attendees. Apart from that, more than 300 have viewed the recorded video of the webinar on YouTube so far.
The project was a golden success where the club received overflowing positive feedbacks. This successful episode has led to special requests for another intriguing chapter, which will be launched in near future.
Ultimately, we emphasize again with utmost delight that ‘Investor’21’ has certainly set a benchmark in the history of RACUOK!
