The Rotaract journey of the year 2022 successfully painted another month with unique colors of various initiatives by the International Service Avenue, Professional Development Avenue and Sport and Entertainment Avenue. And also the technical teams, namely Editorial team, Public Relations team, Digital Media team, Finance team and Member Relations team too embellished the month of February by the projects organized.
The International Service Avenue continued their endeavor of organizing the project “One Book One Smile” which is done jointly with the Rotaract club of Coimbatore Spectrum. The planning process was carried out further during the month of February setting up the path ahead to execute the project successfully.
While technology advances itself day by day the Professional Development Avenue too initiated an innovative project named “Spectrum” which is based on creating and publishing a NFT collection. This latest digital asset is to be published in the Rotaract District conference which is to be held on the 2nd of April 2022. Further the team had a discussion about crypto currency and NFTs with DRM on the 11th of February via zoom. The proceedings of the advanced project are to be conducted in the upcoming weeks with many remarkable elements.
“Down the Wicket”, the much awaited event by all the Rotaractors of the club which was organized by the Sports and Entertainment Avenue was held on the 5th of February 2022 at the Polhena ground, Kelaniya. It was indeed a massive treat to all the cricket enthusiasts and also all the participants who celebrated the meetup of fellow members.
The Editorial team enhanced the month of February too with the special day articles added into the blog, enlightening the uniqueness of every month as usual.
The Public Relations team achieved many golden milestones during the month of February including launching the official Twitter account for the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya and also they reached 10,000+ followers on the official Facebook page of the club. The team also added some fun elements by creating fun tik tok videos on behalf of the club.
The Digital Media team as usual assured all PR materials including flyers and videos were accurate and met the standards and also assisted in made flyers and videos for various projects. The team created the birthday flyers, special day flyers and also the member of the month flyers adding in more celebration to the month of February.
The Finance team started working on the official t-shirt of the Rotaract year 2022 of the club and the design was published among the members in the month of February. And also the initiation of collecting payments for the t shirts was done during the month.
The signature project of the Member Relations team “Rota Tomorrow” began in February which hyped the engagement of fellow Rotaractors providing them the platform to interact with each other. Members were divided into teams and execute projects while competing with other teams.
A most remarkable event which took place in the month of February is the “Career Fair 2022”, organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya which is one of the flagship events in the university calendar. Career Fair 2022 was organized for the fourteenth (14th) year, by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the Rotaract Club, Leo Club, LED KLN, Gavel Club and AIESEC in University of Kelaniya. The career Fair created a platform for undergraduates who are job seekers to meet the talent hunters who are in search of skills to fill in their corporate space. It also provided knowledge about the gigantic corporate world including the ongoing trends in different fields, required skills in a contemporary business world and many more insights paving the path for undergraduates to enter their career path. Opportunities were provided to them to experience interviews and also grasp the chance of initiating their career. Career Fair 2022 was enhanced further through the launch the Official Career Fair Magazine 2022 which was unveiled at inauguration ceremony, nourished with wisdom and presenting with pride the flair of scripting experiences, entrepreneurial journeys, success stories combined with an essence of motivation and Embellishing the Powers of Success.
The monthly General Meeting was held on the 26th of February from 7.00 p.m. onwards via Zoom. Adhering to the current trend the virtual background of the meeting clearly depicted the mind voice of many with the verse ‘ලයිට් ආවා ආයේ ගියා’.
Accordingly, the month of February too came to an end reimbursing its own colors through the projects, events and outstanding moments inherited by the Rotaract club of University of Kelaniya.
