And no, it’s not this everlasting
Hate,
To see all men perish
To let women alone
Be the heroes of this time and age.
It’s just the simple thoughts,
Ones I can never outloud say,
On family dinners
- Sipping an instant coffee
Just being the unruly modern lass
With an un-black hair
And a mini dress –
Seeing, my uncles being the family men;
One with his wife,
Singing lullabies to their daughter
In bed,
The other on the couch
Demanding his wife
For a dinner plate
To serve his impotent self,
While calling her
What he thought were nicknames.
