Aging is not losing youth, but a new stage of opportunity and strength.
Blessed is the society that has elders. The foundation of an enormous forest is dependent upon the giant trees as they feed all the minor communities of flora and fauna. The privileges that we enjoy today are the commitments of our elders.
As a way of showing our gratitude for those heroes who have shed their blood, sweat and tears, the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya organized the project “Snehadana 2020” while fulfilling the responsibility of youth towards the elders.
“Snehadana 2020” was a meal distribution project for elderly people, organized on the World Elders’ day. It was successfully held on the 1st of October 2020 from 11.30 onwards remarking the starting point at the Viharamahadevi park in Colombo. We are extremely delighted that it was for the second successive year that we organized this project under the guidance of the avenue of Community Service. It was a day filled with contentment and happiness and we heartily appreciate and acknowledge all those who joined hands with “Snehadana 2020” by sharing their time, money and energy to make this day special!
Let us not forget the people who have walked the path before us.
