Rotaract Champions League

The Rotaract Champions League was organized for the second consecutive occasion on the 9th of January and the 10th of January. The project was organized by the Rotaract District 3220 and it was chaired by the district sports director Rtr. Shihan Zain.

The first day of the Rotaract Champions League was successfully started with participation of more than 300 rotaractors who represented their clubs on the 9th January at the Royal Sports Complex Colombo. The day was very well planned out with many interesting and enthusiastic sports and games which showed the talents of many rotaractors. These indoor games and sports were hosted by different rotaract clubs. They are;

RC of Midtown, RC of Colombo West, – Futsal
RC of University of Moratuwa, RC of IIT – Badminton
RC of Faculty of Science, UOC, RC of University of Peradeniya – Table tennis
RC of Faculty of Law, UOC – Carrom
RC of College of Chemical Sciences – Chess

After winding up of  the first day very successfully the outdoor games were played on the 10th of January at Colombo University grounds. Just as the first day the ground was filled with many rotaractors representing their clubs and the games were hosted by the following clubs.

RCs of Faculty of Arts UOC, Kandy, University of Peradeniya – Basket Ball
RCs of Colombo North, Colombo Mid Town – Cricket
RC of University of Peradeniya – Tap Rugby
RC of University of Kelaniya – Tug of war
RC of Faculty of Management and Finance, UOC – Athletics

Summing up all the hard work of all the organizers the Rotaract Champions League was concluded with an Awards Ceremony where the talents of the rotaract champions were admired and awarded. Well known car racer Mr. Dilantha Malegamuwa participated in the award ceremony as the chief guest.

The overall championship was awarded to the Roatarct Club of Kothalawala Defense University and they gained this championship for the second consecutive time.

The second place was awarded to the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science University of Colombo.
