G’day Eh

G’ day Eh, the first project of the International Services Avenue for the Rotaract year 2018/2019 headed by the International Services Director Rtr. Ushani Haththalla was successfully held on the 25th of September 2018 at Kelaniya University premises.

G’day Eh was a joint project with the Rotaract Club of Mt. Lawley, Australia where the fellow Rotaractors from the club joined us at the university premises. They all were warmly welcomed by the joint secretaries of the club Rtr. Minduli Welagedara and Rtr. Virada Ranwala in a very interesting manner where they were crowned with flowers as a mark of welcoming them to the rotaract community of University of Kelaniya.

The program initiated with the welcome speech of President Rtr. Senura Jayaweera. The Rotaractors from Mt.Lawley, Australia entertained the crowd with an amazing singing performance which included the sweet melody of a guitar as the first performance of the day.

The program also included a number of outstanding performances by the Rotaractors of University of Kelaniya. Among them were a solo singing performance by Rtr. Susan Liyanage , a group singing performance and a mashup which included traditional sinhalese songs and melodies.

The game Guessing the Correct Language conducted by Rtr. Punsisi Liyanage brought more fun to the program as it made all the fellow Rotaractors interact with each other.

The Rotaractors of the Rotaract Club of Mt. Lawley as well as the Rotaractors of Univesity of Kelaniya got the opportunity to know each other well through this event as they all were given the time to introduce themselves to each other. They had so much fun dancing and singing together.

Strengthning the bond between fellow Rotaractors, the event came to an end with the thank you speech made by the IS director Rtr.Ushani Haththalla. A souvenir was presented to the special invitees marking the significance of the event to both the clubs.

As an entertainment program and especially as a project under the International Services avenue, G’day Eh was a huge success as it resembled the union of rotaractors globally.
