Monthly General Meeting- January

The 7th of January 2020 marked another memorable day in the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya as it was the first General Meeting for the new year.

The meeting was held on the 7th of January 2020. The K14 403 hall of the Faculty of Humanities was filled with nearly seventy five of our members, who participated in the meeting.

The meeting began with the President, Rtr. Rivi Wijeratne addressing the gathering. Then, Rtr. Ravindy Siriwardane took over the controls to carry out the flag salutation, Rotaract invocation and the Fourway test.
Next, Rtr. Parami Annuththara , the joint secretary of the club delivered the minutes of the last club meeting.

Next, the winners of the month of December; the members, the team leaders, and the directors were appreciated for their outstanding contribution to the club.

The Editorial Avenue was nominated as the most active avenue of the month.

Next, Rtr. Ayoma Suraweera, the Co- director of the International Service avenue addressed the gathering while thanking each and everyone who helped to make the Egyptian Night a huge success, which was organized for the first time by the club.

Rtr. Poornima Aththanayake, the co- director of the Club Service Avenue addressed the gathering thanking all for the immense support given in organizing the Christmas party ‘Jingle Eve’ which was held on the 31st of December 2019.

Further, the President Rtr. Rivi emphasized on the importance of participating in the various projects and activities organised by our own club and other clubs.

Moreover, the members were encouraged to take part in the Rotaract Champions League.

Year 2019 was indeed a milestone year for the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya. Inestimable sacrifices made out of sweat and tears has brought the club to great heights. The more we look back, the more we see miracles.

The meeting concluded as all those who gathered sang ‘Happy birthday ‘ in unison to celebrate the birthdays of January babies of the club. Hearty smiles and cheerful laughter filled the day with glee.
