Monthly General Meeting- November

The General Meeting of the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya for the month of November was held on the 20th of November 2019. The K14 205 hall of the Faculty of Humanities was filled with nearly seventy five of our members, who participated in the meeting.

The meeting began with the President, Rtr. Rivi Wijeratne addressing the gathering. Then, Rtr. Suzan Sewwandi took over the controls to carry out the flag salutation, Rotaract invocation and the Fourway test.
Next, Rtr. Nemindi Rathnayake, the joint secretary of the club delivered the minutes of the last club meeting.

Next, the winners of the month of October; the members, the team leaders, and the directors were appreciated for their outstanding service, commitment, and dedication. Special Events Avenue, Sports and Entertainment Avenue, and Community Service Avenue were nominated as the most active avenues.

Next, Rtr. Vimukthi, the Co- director of the Sports and Entertainment avenue addressed the gathering about the upcoming Rotaract Champions League. Rtr. Vimukthi explained the importance of participating in this event as a club while encouraging the fellow Rotaractors to contribute in a maximum way for the practice sessions.

The meeting continued as the President Rtr. Rivi addressed the gathering by briefing about the ongoing and upcoming projects of the club. Detailed descriptions of the projects were given to the members so that they could receive a clear understanding of the activities of the club. Moreover, the members were given an awareness of the Rotaract formalities as well as the Cluster projects in which our club is involved.

Rtr. Thilini Witharama, the Co- director of the Professional Development Avenue then delivered a detailed explanation about the upcoming project ‘Rhetorica’; a programme dedicated for teaching English.

Then began the fun part of the meeting:celebrating the birthdays of the November babies. Proving once again that we are a family, everyone shared a piece of cake with hearty smiles and much love.

Undoubtedly, all the participants had a memorable day!!!
