NENASA PHASE 02

The Rotaract club of University of Kelaniya identified the need of English language in today’s world.

Therefore we took the initiative to help students of Wedamulla Maha Vidyalaya to widen the limits of their worlds by enhancing their English knowledge. Project started on 06th of October and we continued it until 24th of November without any failure. This became a success with the help of Teaching English as a Second Language department University of Kelaniya.

The teaching crew made a syllabus seperately and conduted sessions targeting on improving their language and soft skills. Everyday after grammar session facilitators did spoken activities and games. We also distributed study materials to those students.

What made all the facilitators and rotaractors more motivated to carry on those sessions was some chits those students gave them.

Every friday two and half hours with those little hearts was time well spent constructing a path to their future. At first when the project was started there were only 20-30 students, but from second week onwards we got a count of more than 60 students participation. At last we gave certificates and gifts to all the participants. Also in the final day we gave them our contact details so they can ask any help from us in the future.

With the help of the Principal, Teachers, Undergraduates of TESL and fellow rotaractors we were able to achieve what we expected at a higher level. We also got a lot of compliments from students as well as teachers. All in all, it was a very good session conducted by the Community Services, Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya. We would like to thank project chairpersons Rtr. Hirodya and Rtr. Hasanthi for the job well done.
