Robert Bruce and the spider

A story of motivation…

Robert Bruce was a great leader of Scotland. His country was being ruled by the English and he wanted to free his nation.  So he struggled hard and fought against them but was unsuccessful in the attempt. He was defeated and was on the run- a hunted man. He hid himself inside a cave and was feeling very sad.

Just at that time, a spider fell down from the ceiling of the cave. A very fine thread was linking with its cobweb. Bruce happened to look at it himself. The spider began to climb the wall to reach its web. Time and time again, the spider fell and climbed slowly back up to try again. Finally, to his great surprise, he saw that spider managed to reach the web and began to weave the web. This event filled his heart with great courage and hope.  Robert was inspired by the spider went on to defeat the English at the battle of Bannockburn.  Thus the little spider taught him that failure is a stepping stone to success if one doesn’t stop trying.

Similarly, you will never know how much you can accomplish until you try. Never stop trying. Your miracle will come in undefined moments. Don’t be scared of failure. Learn from it and try again.

Moral: Keep trying… keep on trying till you see success!
