“Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, make this world a beautiful garden.”

Yes, children can make this world a better place just like a flower spreads its fragrance. The Special Olympics Asian Football Celebration was held on the 27th of July 2019 at the premises of University of Kelaniya joining a group of kids and teenagers with special needs- the superheroes who paint the world with beautiful colours each day.

The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya was privileged to be a part of this remarkable event helping with the organizing, sponsoring and volunteering.

As mentioned above, the event was organized for kids and teenagers with special needs.

A football match was held uniting these little hearts. The event encouraged these brave hearts to overcome their odds with unity and team spirit. Their excitement and happiness brightened up the day!!!

The Rotaract club of University of Kelaniya thus marked its first Community Services project successfully for the Rotaract year 2019/ 2020. A very special ‘Thank you’ goes out to the Vice President of the club, Rtr. Ishanka Suriyaarachchi, the Director of Special Events, Rtr. Temalka Prasad, the Director of Sports and Recreational activities Rtr. Vimukthi Sameera, Rtr. Dulaji and Rtr. Devindini for volunteering and for helping the organizers to make this event come into a reality.
