The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya held our Installation Ceremony of Club Directors and the Executive Board for the year 2016/2017, on the 15th of September 2016 at the DHPL auditorium. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Rotarian Nomal Wijerathna and the Guest of Honour was Rotarian Sulochana Vannikasinkam.
Founded in 2009, the RCUoK was one of the few clubs to achieve the highly acclaimed status in the local university context. The club intends to continue in its endeavor to become a platform for its members to hone their humanity and leadership skills while sustaining its President’s distinguished status.
The Installation Ceremony was a colourful event with inspiring speeches before a large gathering of eminent Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors. Distinguished guests, DRR Rotaractor Paul Harris Fellow Mohammed Husni and Club Guide Rotaractor Kanishka Wijesekara dedicated their valuable time for the Club.
The incoming President of the RCUoK, Rtr. Harindu Abeysinghe outlined his plans for the year and stressed on the need for rotaractors to acquire communication and leadership skills so that they can stride the current stage with confidence. Immediate Past President, Rtr. Thilina Nimantha was the recipient of the success for his dedication and commitment to the Club during his tenure as President.
The co-chair persons of the ceremony were Rtr. Radini Welwewa and Rtr. Nisal Wijesinghe and the vote of thanks was given by Joint secretary, Rtr. Darsha Hewapanna.
