The University administration authorities also gave an immense support since the day we asked permission for the campaign. The suggestions of the administration authorities made it easy for us to commnce the project.

The chairs of the project, Rtr. Hasanthi Premathilaka and Rtr. Hirodya Hasarangi successfully started this shramadana campaign from science faculty “base” canteen premises, which was recognized as a threatful mosquito breeding area. There were more than 25 participants who gave their hand in this project. All the participants were given gloves and other necessary tools before starting the campaign.

At the end of the campaign, places which were suspected a threat of breeding mosquitoes were cleaned. Many waste materials like biscuit wrappers, yogurt cups, tins, lunch sheets and banners were collected.

The drains were cleaned so that no water would gather unnecessarily.

Even though the main objective of the project was to prevent mosquito breeding, all the participants managed to make the area a better place while making the project a success.
