The official blog launch of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya was held on the 10th of Octorber at the University premises with the participation of all the members of the club. The event was chaired by Rtr. Darshatha Gamage (Director – Professional Development) and Rtr. Shenali Perera (Editor).
It was commenced with the welcome speech welcoming all who were present at the event and then followed with the addressing the gathering by Rtr. Thilina Nimantha (President). As the next step the official blog of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya was launched. Continuing the agenda Rtr. Shenali Perera explained the importance and the reason of launching a blog. It was explained that the main reason to start up a blog was because with the advancement of new technology our club too have moved towards advancement by changing our newsletter into a blog. There are two main objectives of initiating the RC_UOK blog. They are;

• To exhibit the transparency in rendering our utmost service to the society and enable and provide the public with information and knowledge motivating them to join the voluntary services.
• To give the club members the chance of communicating their views and to increase their creativity skills.

The event was concluded successfully by the vote of thanks given by Rtr. Roshana Ali (Joint Secretary).
The process of the blog launch was planned with a series of facebook posts which came up with a teaser campaign in order to give a good publicity. Making the campaign successful the event was held very effectively.
