Good things happen when you take a step forward.

As a school student who wasn’t involved in many extracurricular activities, I always wanted to be part of something that could create an impact on society while giving me the opportunity to meet new people and make meaningful friendships.

With that thought in mind, I joined the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya, where I found a new version of myself.

I started my journey as a member of the Sports and Recreational Activities Avenue, and my first project was Down the Wicket ’24. Through that experience, I gained new knowledge and experiences, which encouraged me to be a part of other projects such as EduBridge, Influencia, and Brain Tease.

With all those experiences from different organizing committees, I decided to apply for the Team Leader position of the SR Avenue. After being selected as a Team Leader, my next project was Spotlight 3.0, a project that I will always cherish. Playing the role of a Co-Chairperson in that project helped me discover many skills that had always been hidden within me. More importantly, that project inspired me to take the next step in my Rotaract journey.

I am forever grateful to the Co-Directors of my avenue, Hashini Akka and Thanuj Ayya, and our Vice President, Shahmi Ayya, for giving me opportunities to grow and for always trusting and believing in me.

In the 2025–26 term, I had the privilege of serving as the Co-Director of the Sports and Recreational Activities Avenue, the very avenue that helped me grow throughout my Rotaract journey.

During the term, we successfully concluded the two signature projects of the avenue, Down the Wicket ’25 and Spotlight 4.0. I truly believe we were able to take the avenue to the next level through these projects.

I am thankful to our overseeing ExCo member, Pahan, my Co-Director Hansi Akka, and all the members who kept their energy and dedication alive until the very end.

I am grateful for all the memories I made through this club and for all the amazing people I met along the way. To everyone who supported me, guided me, encouraged me, and believed in me, thank you. I am truly grateful and lucky to have had you by my side throughout this journey.

To those who will take over this avenue and this club in the future, I wish you all the very best. Make the most of every opportunity, trust the process, and enjoy every moment of your journey.
