Embracing the Dawn of Possibility, Empowering Transition of Our New Chapter!
With each step, we leave behind the familiar and embrace the uncharted. It is in these moments of transition that our potential for growth and transformation finds its canvas. The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya, chartered in the year 2010, has been active in the mission of serving the community and has always worked to achieve the best. As a continuation of the excellent service rendered for a long period of 13 years, the Transition Meeting for the Rotary International year 2022-23 of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya was held on 22nd of July, 2023, with the hope of charting new horizons and welcoming an exciting chapter of growth.
The transition meeting was initiated with a welcome speech by the outgoing president, Rtr. Manula Pethiyagoda, and the Rotaract formalities were delivered by the outgoing Senior Editor, Rtr. Rahma Zuhri.
In the midst of shifting tides, we find ourselves at the brink of fresh starts. The words of District Rotaract Representative Rotaractor Past President Sathma Jayasinghe reminded us that as we step into this period of change, we should follow the guiding light of hope that illuminates our way forward.
Rtr. Verosha Abeygunawardana, the outgoing Secretary, presented the Secretary’s Report, re-examining what was done and achieved by the club in the Rotaract Year 2022-23.
The Immediate Past President, Rtr. Manula Pethiyagoda was introduced with much pleasure, and he then addressed the Rotaractors. With that, the Immediate Past President installed the collar on the new President, Rtr. Roshan Rathnayake, and he then addressed the Rotaractors, expressing his views about the future goals and initiative programs for the year ahead.

With the introduction of the new Board of Directors of the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya for the Rotary International Year 2023-24, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Uptown Rotarian Delan Silva addressed the gathering with his undoubted immense encouragement. Newly appointed Senior Treasurer, Dr. Chatura Liyanage, Senior Lecturer, Department of Finance, University of Kelaniya, also left us inspired with his countless endeavors.
Finally, the transition meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks by the incoming Secretary, Rtr. Akshana Wickramasinghe.
Together, we weave the threads of optimism and possibility, forging ahead with the assurance that every transition holds the promise of a new hope.
Hope in Service, Hope in Action.
Viva La Rotaract!
