“Teamwork is the beauty of basketball.”
The Inter Rotaract Basketball Tournament (IRBT), jointly organized by the Rotaract Clubs of Colombo Uptown, University of Kelaniya and University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was held on the 26th of February 2017 at St. Thomas College Basketball Court for the 7th consecutive year. The project was chaired by Rtr. Ahamed Ifhaam (Co-Director of IT) and Rtr. Nipuni De Alwis, representing the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya.
The tournament took place with the participation of 7 male and 2 female teams representing their Rotaract clubs and there were over hundred Rotaractors representing their respective clubs to cheer on their own teams.
After several rounds of heated competition, the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School emerged as the champions of the male category and the Rotaract Club of Excellence College of Management emerged as the champions of the female category of the IRBT 2017.
The awards were presented to the winning clubs by the DRRE Rtr. Anuradha Senanayake with the participation of the Rotaract district members and the tournament was successfully concluded due to the hard work put in by many Rotaractors.
