“KPL”, Kelaniya Premier League 2015, the first ever six-a-side cricket tournament, organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya, was successfully concluded on the 30th of October, within the university premises. The project was carried out under the Public Relations Avenue and the project was chaired by Rtr. Sanoj Mendis and Rtr. Dumindu Harischandra.

The KPL six a side cricket tournament was organized with the objective of increasing the awareness about the RCUOK among the undergraduates and also to increase the bond between the different clubs which are there with in the university. The KPL tournament was started with the participation of 16 teams which represented different clubs, different departments and different batches.

Starting off the tournament the first round was carried out among the all 16 teams and out of them four teams were selected to the semifinals according to the highest score margin they scored.

After a very thrilling two matches the teams “1000 Wathure” who represented the Commerce and Management Faculty and “1000 Waters” team who represented the Science Faculty were able to get selected to the final round. The KPL six a side cricket tournament was concluded   by the team ‘1000 Wathure’ from the Faculty of Commerce and Management emerged Champions, while ‘1000 Waters’ from the Faculty of Science emerged Runners Up.

The first KPL cricket tournament was concluded successfully by giving a chance to all the undergraduates to mingle with each other and mainly the KPL cricket tournament was able to become an everlasting memory in university life for all those who participated.
