The Spirit of the Club – October

The Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya took on two community projects for the month of October and they were “Speak UP-Reach OUT” and “Zoonooz”.

“Speak UP-Reach OUT” was a community service project organized on behalf of the World Children’s Day, which was held on the 16th October 2016 at the Western Province Aesthetic Resort. It was held for the youngsters of our country with the intention of enhancing their awareness on suicide prevention and motivating them to groom themselves for a better tomorrow. The pillar of success of this project was the Community Service Co-Director Pasani Wickrama.

The second community service project for the month was “Zoonooz”, organized by the Club Service Co-Director Nadeeshani Karandana. The project was carried out on the 23rd of October 2016 at the National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka. The zoo is the only home the animals there have ever known. The objective of this project was to keep the zoo clean; since it’s our responsibility do so as the representatives of the community at large.

Therefore the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya would like to proudly announce the two project chairs, Rtr. Pasani Wickrama and Rtr. Nadeeshani Karandana as the Spirits of the Club for the month of October for the commitment, leadership, team management and other skills they performed during their projects. Hence we are much obliged to appreciate your great work and we wish you both a very successful year ahead with the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya.
