Trash Hunt 2019 – “Every trash you remove reveals something beautiful.”

‘Trash Hunt’ was a joint project organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya and the Rotaract Club of Pearl Island on the 13th of October 2019.

This project was another significant initiative of the Community Service avenue of our club.

The objective was to make the coast line of Wattala free of trash by making it a cleaner place with a pleasant environment.

Many Rotaractors who were very enthusiastic about protecting the environment, from both the clubs, joined hand in hand in order to make this project a success.

The volunteers were divided into groups where they cleaned different parts of the coastline.

The collected trash was divided into different categories such as plastic, glass, and biodegradable.

The great saying ” Every trash you remove reveals something beautiful ” truly inspired the bunch of enthusiastic Rotaractors who rendered their fullest support to make the programme a great success.

Rtr. Kasun Balasooriya and Rtr. Nipuni Mahathanthrige, the two ambitious chair persons of the project worked hand in hand giving their fullest cooperation to make the event a reality.

The event concluded with the Rotaractors enjoying some refreshments with joy while making new friends.
